Dhillon Virdee-Oakley was named the Under Armour Men's Player of the Week. The award, which was announced Wednesday, are for matches from Feb. 19 to Feb. 24.
Virdee-Oakley led the Rams to the first win of the spring, a 5-2 victory over Norfolk State at the Cary Leeds Center on Sunday night. He defeated Norfolk State's Vladisav Gorbatenko in straight sets at first singles, 6-4, 6-2, and teamed with
Dhananjay Athreya to win at first doubles over Gorbatenko and Deniz, 6-4.
In Forhdam's other match on the week, a 4-0 loss to 30
th-ranked Penn, Virdee-Oakley and Athreya were tied with Penn's Sanjeev Chundu and Aaron Sandler, 5-5, when the match was halted.
The Rams return to action on Friday, February 28, as they travel to Queens College for a 1:00 p.m. match.
