Fairfax, Va.  – Opening the Atlantic 10 portion of the 2025-26 calendar Wednesday night, Fordham University women's basketball heads to Virginia for a meeting with George Mason.

The Rams (6-3) are riding a three-game win streak into league play, most recently defeating LIU 72-51 Sunday afternoon at the Rose Hill Gym. George Mason (5-4) are looking to snap a two-game skid, falling to Murray State and No. 13 Ole Miss in their last two games at the Daytona Beach Classic.

All-time, the Maroon and White hold an 11-6 record against the defending A-10 Champions, though the Patriots have taken each of the last three meetings between the two sides. Fordham's last win over George Mason came during the 2022 Atlantic 10 Championship in Wilmington, Del. a 66-50 victory in the First Round of the tournament.

For Fordham, this is their sixth game amidst a stretch where they play five of seven on the road, beginning with the Rams' first trip to Buffalo back on Nov. 16, and concluding this Saturday with the final game before holiday break at Hofstra.

As a team, the Rams are just 15th in the nation averaging 17.2 offensive rebounds per game, and rank 43rd nationally in overall rebounds at 42.56, both second best in the A-10. Fordham's defense leads the A-10 holding opponents to just 35.0% shooting on the year, 40th best in the country. They also sit 70th in the country in steals per game at 10.8/game, second best in the league as well, and 69th in the country in turnovers forced per game, leading the conference, forcing opponents into 20.67 turnovers per game.

Scoring in double figures in each of her first nine games as a Ram, Alexis Black paces the Rams offense, sitting fifth in the nation in free throws made with 68 on the year, and is sixth amongst all Division I players with 188 points scored, averaging 20.9 points per game, 18th best in the nation. She also ranks 28th in the country with 23 three pointers made, 35th in the country in steals with 23, and 59th in assists with 37.

With two more games to tick off on the non-conference side of the schedule, Fordham heads out to Long Island Saturday afternoon for a meeting with Hofstra at 2:00 p.m. on FloSports.
