BRONX, NY --The Fordham volleyball team put up a tough fight throughout, but were unable to overcome a dynamic Dukes offense Saturday at home, falling to Duquesne in straight sets (16-25, 24-26, 19-25).
The loss dropped Fordham's record to 7-12 overall and 1-8 in Atlantic 10 action.
Gabby Destler finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Rams attack, while Fordham also got 10 digs from Lola Fernandez to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Rams fell behind early, dropping a tough first set 25-16. Fordham trailed by as many as nine points as Duquesne grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5 in a set that was tied up four times before the Dukes took control.
SET 2 | A 26-24 second-set loss put Fordham behind 2-0 in the match, despite much improved play by the Rams in the second stanza. The Rams fell in a back-and-forth set, losing in a frame that featured six lead changes and was tied a whopping 18 times, as neither team led by more than three points along the way.
SET 3 | Fordham was not able to win the third set and was swept by Duquesne. The Rams fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way in another close battle before falling in the latter stages of the set 25-19.
