Swimming & Diving Does Well at Rutgers Tri-Meet

Fordham Women Defeat St. Bonaventure 158-142; Men Take First in Six Events Against Bonnies

Piscataway, N.J. – (October 11, 2025) – The Fordham swimming & diving teams made their way down the Jersey Turnpike to Rutgers University, where the Rams faced off against Atlantic 10 foe St. Bonaventure and the Rutgers' women's team.
 
WOMEN'S MEET
  • The Rams defeated St. Bonaventure by a score of 158-142, while Rutgers took the team win in that match-up.
  • Hayley Clark was the lone Ram with an overall event win, taking first in the 500 freestyle in 5:06.34.She also earned a third place finish in the 200 butterfly, clocking in at 2:06.06.
  • Campbell Stever posted a pair of second place finishes in the distance freestyle event, recording times of 10:30.12 (1000 free) and 5:06.92 (500 free).
  • Lexi Lundell grabbed second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.03 with Karina Kanary being second in the 400 individual medley, clocking in at 4:32.79.
  • Fordham also took third place with Ella Montgomery in the 100 backstroke (57.76) and Saskia Aikman in the 50 freestyle (23.88).
  • In the relays, the 200 medley relay of Aikman, Kanary, Montgomery, and Lundell were second in 1:46.21, while the 200 freestyle relay of Aikman, Lundell, Therese Enriquez, and Montgomery were also second in 1:37.09.
 
MEN'S MEET
  • Fordham fell by a 183-111 score to St. Bonaventure.
  • The Rams recorded six event wins on the afternoon.
  • David Vargas was a multi-event winner, placing first in both diving events.He scored 358.75 on the three-meter board and 321.50 on the one-meter.
  • Quinn MacPhail was also a dual event winner, taking the top spot in the 1000 freestyle (9:23.15) and the 400 individual medley (4:01.99).
  • Max Maycher had the remaining individual event win for the Rams in the 100 breaststroke in 56.17 seconds, while grabbing second in the 100 freestyle (46.60).
  • The last win came in the 200 freestyle relay, where Maycher, David Topi, Misha Semenov, and Daniel Ribeiro took first in 1:21.73.
  • The 200 medley relay of Semenov, Maycher, Ribeiro, and Theo Vandenberg were second in 1:31.09.
  • Other runner-up finishes came from Topi in the 50 freestyle (20.74), Ryan Hong in the 200 breaststroke (2:07.09), and Kevin Yum in the 500 freestyle (4:39.07).

  • The Rams are next in action on Friday, October 17th, when the Rams host Manhattan at 5:00 PM in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.
