BRONX, N.Y. (Jan. 24, 2025) – The Fordham men's basketball team will return to the Bronx on Sunday afternoon when it plays host to Duquesne at 12 p.m.

The game will air live nationally on USA Network with Mike Corey  and Dr. John Giannini on the call from the historic Rose Hill Gym.  90.7 FM WFUV will also carry the game live over the air with a simulcast available on the WFUV Sports YouTube page.

Sunday will serve as the Rams' annual "Whiteout" game, as all fans in attendance will receive a white Fordham basketball t-shirt courtesy of Coca-Cola.

Fordham (8-11, 0-6 A-10) enters the weekend in search of its first conference win this season.  The Rams have come up just short in each of their last two outings, losing by a pair, 120-118, to UMass in triple overtime on Jan. 15 before falling 70-66 on the road to Loyola Chicago on Wednesday night.  Fordham led by as many as seven in the game, including a 55-51 edge with 8:32 to play.  From there, Loyola went on an extended 10-0 run, holding Fordham scoreless for just under four minutes and taking the lead for good.

The veteran backcourt of Jackie Johnson III and Japhet Medor led the charge offensively against Loyola, as each finished with 22 points.  Johnson went 8-of-16 from the field while Medor shot 6-of-11 from the floor and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.  Johnson and Medor both eclipsed the 20-point mark for the third straight game. The effort marked Johnson's ninth 20-point outing of the season, as the senior guard from Wichita, Kan., enters the weekend ranked second in the league with 19.1 points per outing.  Over his last four games, Medor is averaging 21.5 points and has gone 31-of-36 (86.1%) from the free throw line.

Johnson, who played his freshman campaign at Duquesne before spending two years at UNLV, enters the contest with 989 career points.  Medor is also closing in on the 1,000-point plateau, entering the weekend with 939 points in just his third Division I season.

Junior forward Joshua Rivera finished with 12 points against the Ramblers.  Over his last three games, the Old Bridge, N.J., native is 5-of-10 from beyond the arc after starting the season 7-of-27 (25.9%) from distance.

Tray Woodall will serve as the Rams' acting head coach for the second consecutive contest.

After losing its first six games to start the season, Duquesne has experienced quite a turnaround, winning nine of its last 13, including a 4-2 start in A-10 play with victories over Saint Joe's, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure and George Washington.

Only two Dukes are averaging double figures, one of whom (Jake DiMichele-10.9 ppg) has not played since Nov. 26.  Senior guard Tre Dinkins III, a Canisius transfer, leads the team with 11.4 points per outing.

The Dukes are one of only five teams allowing fewer than 70 points per game in conference play (69.5 ppg).

Sunday is set to be a battle of contrasting styles.  According to KenPom as of Friday afternoon, Fordham plays at the nation's 48th quickest pace, averaging 70.3 possessions per game.  Duquesne ranks 323rd at 64.2 possessions per contest.

After hosting the Dukes, the Rams will head to Philadelphia for a Wednesday night contest against La Salle on Peacock.
