BRONX, N.Y. (Jan. 14, 2025) – On Jan. 16, 1925, the Rose Hill Gymnasium hosted its first intercollegiate competition, as Fordham defeated Boston College, 46-16. On Wednesday night, Fordham Men's Basketball will celebrate the 100
th anniversary of the building's opening when it welcomes UMass for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
The game will air live on ESPN+ and 90.7 WFUV. SNY will carry a tape-delayed broadcast on Thursday afternoon at 12 p.m. Mike Watts and Jason Crafton will have the call on television while Lou Orlando and Nick Guzman will narrate the action on the radio.
All in attendance will receive a maroon "Rose Hill 100" t-shirt while the first 100 fans in the building will also receive a voucher for a free "Rose Hill 100" crewneck sweatshirt. After the game, all fans in attendance will take home a commemorative glass Coca-Cola bottle featuring the "Rose Hill 100" logo.
Fordham (8-9, 0-4 A-10) enters the contest on the heels of a two-game road swing at VCU and Davidson. The Rams lost by 12, 73-61, in Richmond on Wednesday before a comeback effort fell short at Davidson, 74-64, on Saturday afternoon.

Japhet Medor enjoyed an efficient road trip down South, averaging 19.5 points per game on 50.0% shooting, including a 45.5% (5-for-11) effort from beyond the arc. The Wellington, Fla., native also dished out 4.5 assists while surrendering just 1.0 turnovers per contest.
After failing to reach double figures in the scoring column for the first time this season with eight points against VCU,
Jackie Johnson III responded with 20 points in the loss at Davidson. It marked the senior's seventh 20-point outing of the season. Johnson attempted 16 3-pointers against the Wildcats, tied for the third highest single-game total in program history and the most by a Ram in a single game since Jason Harris attempted 17 treys on Dec. 23, 2000, against Siena. Johnson's streak of 15 consecutive games in double figures to start the season was the longest by a Fordham player since Chris Gaston reached the mark in 22 straight contests spanning 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Matt Zona also averaged double figures on the Rams' recent two-game road trip, scoring 14 points against VCU before adding seven at Davidson. In Richmond on Wednesday, he connected on five of his seven field goal tries, including a 2-for-4 showing from deep.
UMass enters the week with a record of 6-11, 1-3 in the Atlantic 10. The Minutemen's lone conference win made national headlines, as UMass took down Dayton, 76-72, at home on Wednesday night. Senior forward Daniel Rivera posted a 23-point, 12-rebound double-double in the win over the Flyers while UConn transfer Rahsool Diggins added 18 points and six assists.
On the season, Diggins leads the team in scoring with 14.3 points per game. Sophomore guard Jaylen Curry, an A-10 All-Rookie Team selection last season, ranks second on the squad at 12.4 points per game while dishing out a team-best 4.1 assists per contest, the latter of which is good for seventh in the A-10.
Fordham and UMass will meet for the 54
th time in the history of the two programs when they face off on Wednesday night. The Minutemen own a 34-19 edge in the series, which began in December of 1967. 42 of those contests have come as Atlantic 10 foes. Wednesday night will mark the final A-10 regular season meeting between the teams, as UMass will begin playing in the Mid-American Conference next season.
