Khalid Moore to Play with Brooklyn Nets in NBA Summer League

BRONX, N.Y. – Former Fordham Men's Basketball standout Khalid Moore has received an invitation to the NBA's Summer League for the second straight season, as the Elmont native will suit up with the Brooklyn Nets beginning on July 12 in Las Vegas.

Moore, who earned Third Team All-Atlantic 10 honors during his one season with the Rams in 2022-23, is coming off his rookie campaign with Lavrio BC of Greece's premier professional league.  In 27 games against some of the continent's top talent, Moore averaged 10.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per outing with four double-doubles.  He started 25 of those 27 appearances and shot 53.5 percent from the field.

Last summer, Moore competed in NBA Summer League with the New York Knicks, playing in four games and making one start.  He averaged 2.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per contest.

Moore's lone season at Fordham was one for the ages, as he guided the Rams to a 25-8 record, good enough for the second highest win total in program history.  Fordham turned in an A-10 mark of 12-6, setting program high-water marks for wins and winning percentage in the conference.  With Moore averaging 15.7 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per outing, Fordham tied for second in the final Atlantic 10 standings and advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament for just the second time since joining the league in 1995.  Moore scored 20 or more points 11 times with five double-doubles while shooting 48.6 percent from the floor and 35.1 percent from deep.

Prior to arriving in the Bronx, Moore played four seasons at Georgia Tech, helping lead the Yellow Jackets to the 2021 ACC Tournament title.  A career 1,000-point scorer, Moore tallied more points in 33 games at Fordham (519) than he did in 117 at Georgia Tech (510).

The Nets will begin their summer league slate on Friday, July 12, at 8 p.m. ET against Indiana on NBA TV.  They will then take on the Clippers on Sunday, July 14, at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN+.  The Nets will face the Knicks on Tuesday, July 16, at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV before meeting Orlando on Thursday, July 18, at 8 p.m. ET on NBA TV.  A fifth Summer League matchup has yet to be determined.
