Bronx, N.Y. – The 2024 Fordham University football schedule was officially released today and it includes a game against an FBS opponent along with five home games at Joe Moglia Stadium.

Joe Conlin's Rams open the 2024 season with a trip to Ohio to face the Bowling Green State University Falcons on Thursday, August 29. It will be the 13th time over the past 14 years that Fordham will face an NCAA FCS school (a 2020 game at Hawaii was canceled due to COVID), with the Rams winning three of the games, a 30-29 triumph at Temple in 2013, a 37-35 victory at Army West Point in 2015, and a 40-37 victory last year at Buffalo.

The following week Fordham will travel to Central Connecticut State before hosting its home opener a week later, as Stony Brook University visits Moglia Stadium for Homecoming 2024.

Road trips to Dartmouth (Sept. 21) and Monmouth (Sept. 28) follow the Homecoming Game before the Rams host their second game at Moglia Stadium, opening their Patriot League schedule against the defending Patriot League champs, Lafayette College, on October 5 for Family Weekend.

Fordham continues its league schedule by traveling to Worcester for the annual Ram Crusader Cup games against Holy Cross on October 12 and, after a week off, venture out to Bethlehem, Pa., for a contest with Lehigh University.Â

The Rams will play three of their final four games of the season at Moglia Stadium, starting with a matchup with Colgate on November 2, before traveling to Lewisburg Pa., for a league contest with Bucknell on November 9.

Fordham closes out the season by hosting Georgetown on November 16 and then closes out the regular season by hosting Merrimack College in a non-conference game on November 23.

- First meeting between Fordham and Bowling Green.
- This is the third straight season with a game against a MAC opponent (Rams played at Ohio in 2022 and at Buffalo last fall).

- Bowling Green fell to Minnesota in the 2023 Quick Lane Bowl, 30-24.

- Fourth meeting between Fordham and Central Connecticut, the first since 2019.
- The Rams took the lone meeting with the Blue Devils in New Britain, 38-31, in 2017.
- Fordham is 15-12 versus current members of the Northeast Conference, winning the past three matchups.
- It is the first of two NEC opponents for the Rams in 2024 (Merrimack).
- Central Connecticut was 3-8 overall last season, 1-6 in the NEC.

- Sixth meeting on the NCAA FCS level as the first two meetings occurred on the NCAA Division III level.
- Fordham took last year's meeting, 26-7, at Stony Brook as Julius Loughridge rushed 24 times for 154 yards and two touchdowns and Jamell James added 44 yards on six carries with one score while the Rams forced three fourth quarter Stony Brook turnovers, two on strip sacks from Matt Jaworski, both which were converted into touchdowns.

- The Big Green leads all-time series, 4-1.
- It will be the first game with Dartmouth since the 1997 season.
- The Rams have won ten of the last 12 meetings with Ivy League schools.
- It will be Fordham's first game against an Ivy League opponent since a game at Yale in 2019.
- Dartmouth went 6-4 overall, 5-2 in the Ivy League, in 2023.

- The Rams have taken two of the last three meetings and six of the past eleven, including a 45-10 win on Jack Coffey Field in 2022 as Tim DeMorat completed 32 of 45 passes for 482 yards and four touchdowns.
- Rams have won four of the past five meetings with the Leopards at Moglia Stadium.
- Chase Edmonds set the Patriot League record with 359 rushing yards against the Leopards in 2017.
- The Leopards were 9-3 overall, 5-1 in the Patriot League, in 2023, winning the League title.
- Lafayette fell to Delaware, 36-34, in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Championship.

- Brandon Peskin connected on a career-long 45-yard field goal as time expired last year to lead Fordham to a 38-35 win over Lehigh on Homecoming last year.
- Peskin tied the game at 35 with a 42-yard field goal with 1:54 remaining while Julius Loughridge rushed for 170 yards and two scores.
- The Mountain Hawks were 2-9 overall, 1-5 in the Patriot League, last season.

- Fordham has taken the past eleven meetings, including a 27-21 win at Moglia Stadium last November as the Fordham defense recorded five sacks, including one from Matt Jaworski on the final play of the game.
- CJ Montes led the Fordham offense, completing 18 of 33 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns.
- The first four meetings between the Rams and Bison were played at the Polo Grounds with Fordham winning three of the four.
- The Bison were 4-7 overall, 1-5 in the Patriot League, last fall.

- The Rams lead the all-time series, which started in 1889, 42-26-3.

- Fordham is 17-4 against Georgetown since the Hoyas joined the Patriot League in 2001.
- The Rams are 20-7-1 against Georgetown at Moglia Stadium.
- The 65 varsity meetings with the Hoyas are the most against any opponent for the Rams.
- Georgetown was 5-6 in 2022, 3-3 in the Patriot League.

- First meeting between Fordham and Merrimack on the gridiron.
- The Warriors are a member of the Northeast Conference and the Rams are 15-12 versus current members of the NEC, winning the past three matchups.
- The Warriors will play two NCAA FBS schools in 2024 (Air Force and UConn).
- Former head coach Dan Curran left the Warriors in December to become head coach at Holy Cross.
- Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski graduated from Merrimack in 1966, taking classes at the school while playing for the Boston Red Sox.
- Merrimack played NCAA Div. II football from 1997-2018 before moving up to the FCS level in 2019.
- The Warriors were 5-6 overall, 4-3 in the Northeast Conference last year.
