Women's Basketball Hosts Senior Day Against La Salle

The Rams will close the regular season Saturday at 2:00 p.m. seeking their seventh straight win

BRONX, N.Y. - Looking to keep their hot streak alive with the postseason just around the corner, Fordham University women's basketball hosts La Salle Saturday afternoon.

Catch the Rams

  • Saturday's game will air live on ESPN+ with Andrew Bogusch and Andrew Posadas on the call of the action.

  • The Rams will celebrate Senior Day before tipoff, just after 1:30 p.m. and fans can stick around after the game for a message from each of the Rams.

Matchup History

  • La Salle holds a 16-37 all time record against Fordham, winning each of the last three meetings

  • The Explorers defeated the Rams 64-53 in Philadelphia earlier this year.

  • Prior to La Salle's three straight wins, the Rams had won eight consecutive meetings with the Explorers.

Playoff Implications

  • With two games left in the regular season including Wednesday, the Rams currently sit as the No. 9 seed in the A-10 standings, holding the tiebreaker over Saint Louis.

  • If that position holds, Fordham would open the A-10 tournament Thursday against the No. 8 seed, which is currently Loyola Chicago.

  • The No. 11-14 seeds will play the first three games of the tournament next Wednesday.

Fordham Fast Pass

  • Riding a six-game win streak into Wednesday, the Rams (12-15, 7-9 A-10) toppled then top-seeded Saint Joseph's 62-57 in Philadelphia Wednesday night, handing the Hawks just their fourth loss of the year.

  • Fordham has won 10 games this year at Rose Hill, marking the 11th consecutive season with double digit wins at home, with the exception of the Pandemic year when the Rams went 8-1 at home and played just 18 games overall.

  • Continuing to sit amongst the national leaders in steals per game, the Rams have led the A-10 conference all season, entering the weekend averaging 9.7 per game, which ranks 51st in the nation.

  • Fordham is forcing opponents into 17.81 turnovers per game, tied for third best in the conference and 77th best nationally.

  • The Rams place fifth in the conference in blocks per game averaging 3.6 per contest.

  • Fordham's four forwards (Harris, Nyborg, Nelson, & Ly) each enter this weekend shooting 42% or better from the floor for the season.

  • Taylor Donaldson continues to lead the Rams' offense, sitting first in the A-10 and 65th in the nation in points per game (17.7) and first in three pointers made per game (2.79) which places her 17th amongst all Division I players. She also places second in the league in steals per game (2.20) placing her 71st in the country.

That Winning Feeling

  • Over the course of their six game win streak, the Rams are averaging 69.0 points per game with a scoring margin of +15.6, while shooting 46.0% from the field as a team.

  • Emy Hayford has shot 52.4% over that stretch while averaging 15.6 points per game.

  • Taya Davis is shooting 52.9% from the field while also leading the team with 13 assists.

  • Three Rams are averaging over 6.8 rebounds per game, with Aminata Ly pacing that group with 8.3 over the last four games, while Taylor Donaldson has averaged 7.4, and Matilda Flood has averaged 6.8.

  • Fordham as a team is collecting 41.2 rebounds per game over that stretch, out rebounding opponents by 7.8/game.

Run it Back Recap

  • One of the leaders in the A-10 in forcing turnovers all season long, Fordham forced the turnovers they needed down the stretch to take a 62-57 win over conference leading Saint Joseph's Wednesday night on the road.

  • The win gave Fordham its sixth win in a row while handing the Hawks just their fourth loss of the season.

  • Taylor Donaldson would finish the game with a team high 18 points, along with four rebounds and three steals.

  • Emy Hayford would join her in double figures, while for the second game in a row Aminata Ly tallied eight points and eight boards.

  • Matilda Flood would also tally eight rebounds, while scoring six points and collecting two steals.

La Salle Low Down

  • La Salle will look to snap an eight game losing streak this weekend, falling to Saint Louis last time out.

  • Nicole Melious and Makayla Miller each lead the Explorers averaging 10.0 points per game on offense.

Next Stop

  • Fordham heads to Glen Allen, Va. next week for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship at the Henrico Sports and Events Center.
