Box Score Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham men's tennis squad closed out its weekend with a 6-1 loss to Marist College at the Cary Leeds Center on Sunday night.
 
The Rams opened the night taking the doubles point. Nick Mueller and Giorgio Soemarno got things started with a 6-4 win over Jose Catala and Nick Suhanitski at first doubles and then Nicholas Kanazirev and Dhillon Virdee-Oakley clinched the point for the Rams with a 6-4 win over Oliver Theony and Alex Thompson at the second position.
 
Fordham took three of the six singles matches to a fifth set with Mueller winning the first set at first singles from Theony, 7-6, before dropping the last two, 7-5 and 6-3.
 
At second singles Soemarno took the first set from Alejandro Casteneda, 6-3, but Casteneda came back to win the second, 6-2, and the third, 7-5.
 
Similarly at third singles Kanazirev took the first set, 6-3, before dropping the next two, 7-5, and 6-3, to Catala.
