BRONX, N.Y. (Nov. 11, 2024) – The Fordham men's basketball squad will begin its 100th season of competition inside the Rose Hill Gym on Tuesday night when it welcomes Binghamton for the team's home opener.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on SNY and ESPN+ with Andrew Bogusch and Andrew Posadas on the call. The game will also be broadcast live on the WFUV YouTube page with Lou Orlando and Nick Guzman narrating the action.

The first 200 students in attendance will receive a free Chick-fil-A sandwich and a commemorative Rose Hill Gym t-shirt celebrating the famed building's 100th season.

Fordham (1-1) returns to its historic home on the heels of a thrilling road win on Saturday in South Orange.  Taking on Seton Hall for the first time in 23 years, Fordham knocked off the Pirates at the buzzer, as Jackie Johnson III dropped in a 17-foot running floater as time expired.  It marked Fordham's first road win over a high-major program since the Rams took down Virginia, 62-60, in Charlottesville on Dec. 7, 2005.  It was also Fordham's first road victory over a BIG EAST opponent since beating No. 24 St. John's, 68-67, on Dec. 9, 2000, at Madison Square Garden.  Before Saturday, the Rams' last win of any kind over a high-major foe came on Dec. 8, 2018, against Rutgers at the Rose Hill Gym.

Johnson led the Rams in scoring for the second straight game, logging 18 points to go along with four assists and three rebounds in 31 minutes of action.  The UNLV transfer scored 12 of those points in the second half, shooting 5-of-9 from the field in the latter stanza.  He averaged 20.5 points in the Rams' opening two game against BIG EAST competition.

Will Richardson also finished the game in double figures, scoring 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting in addition to posting four rebounds, four assists, no turnovers and two steals in 37 minutes.  Richardson's clutch performance from the free throw line put the Rams in position to win, as he went 3-for-3 from the stripe with 16 seconds remaining and Fordham down by four.

Japhet Medor and Joshua Rivera scored seven points apiece against Seton Hall while Abdou Tsimbila finished with six.  Tsimbila's greatest impact came on the defensive end of the floor, where he grabbed nine of his game-high 11 rebounds and blocked five shots.  Those five rejections moved Tsimbila into fifth place on the Fordham career blocks list with (162), passing Chris Gaston (160, 2009-13).  Tsimbila is now just one rejection away from tying Chuba Ohams (163, 2016-22) for fourth on the Rams' all-time ledger.

Fordham will look to win its fourth straight home opener when it welcomes Binghamton (1-2) on Tuesday night.  Last season, the Rams outlasted eventual NEC Champion Wagner in overtime, 68-64, to open the season in the Bronx.

Binghamton will play its third road game of the young season when it travels to the Bronx.  The Bearcats opened with a 108-66 loss at Penn State on Nov. 4 before taking down Division III Oneonta State, 82-63, at home three days later.  Binghamton then traveled to Coral Gables, losing to Miami, 88-64, on Saturday afternoon.

Five Bearcats enter Tuesday's game averaging double figures led by senior forward Nehemiah Benson at 11.7 points per game.  Sophomore forward Gavin Walsh is the team's best rebounder, averaging 6.7 per contest.  The sophomore from Baltimore posted a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double in the team's loss to Miami this past weekend.

Fordham is 3-0 all-time against Binghamton, including a 77-62 win in their last meeting on Dec. 9, 2022.  All three contests between the two teams have been played inside the Rose Hill Gym.
