BRONX, N.Y. – The Fordham University Rams continue the 2023-2024 season, Fordham's 121st varsity season, and continue Atlantic 10 play by hosting the La Salle University Explorers in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Saturday, January 6, at 12:00 p.m.
The game is Fordham's First Responders Game where first responders can obtain up to four free tickets by calling the Fordham Ticket Office at 718-817-4759.
Join the Ramses Challenge, a philanthropic initiative supporting our student-athletes. Pledge a set amount for each rebound, offensive rebound, steal, or assist. All proceeds are tax-deductible and go directly to the men's basketball program. There is also an option to make a one-time gift to men's basketball.
The game will be broadcast live on the USA Network with Steve Burkowski (PxP) and Julianne Viani-Braen (analyst) announcing as well as broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and the
WFUV Sports YouTube page with Lou Orlando (PxP) and Brian Rabacs (analyst) behind the mics.
Fordham enters the game with a 7-7 record and is coming off a 119-113 triple-overtime win at George Washington in its A-10 opener on Wednesday night while La Salle enters the game with a 9-5 overall record after opening its conference slate with a 77-62 loss in Philadelphia to George Mason on Wednesday night.
Saturday afternoon's contest will be the 66th meeting between Fordham and La Salle on the hardwood. The Explorers lead the all-time series, which started in 1953-54, 43-22, but the Rams have taken each of the last five matchups. The Rams won both of last year's meeting, 66-64, in Philadelphia on January 14 behind 19 points from
Will Richardson, and 69-61 in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship as
Darius Quisenberry netted 22 points and
Khalid Moore added 20 points and eleven rebounds..

• Senior guard
Japhet Medor leads the Rams in scoring (13.0) and assists (3.1/game) while sophomore forward
Joshua Rivera, who has missed the past three games with an injury, is second in scoring (11.2 ppg) and rebounding (4.9/game).
• Senior guard
Kyle Rose has 179 career steals, eighth all-time at Fordham.
• Rose has appeared in 122 career games, tied for fifth all-time for the Rams.

Kyle Rose has 30 steals this year (2.1/game), second in the Atlantic 10, while senior guard
Antrell Charlton has 23 (1.6/game), tied for seventh most in the A-10 this season.

Abdou Tsimbila has 36 blocks in 13 games (2.8/game), second in the Atlantic 10 and fourth in the NCAA.
• Tsimbila has 130 career blocks, sixth all-time at Fordham.
• Tsimbila also leads the Rams in rebounding, averaging 8.0/game, third in the Atlantic 10.
• After averaging 2.7 ppg and 2.0 rpg last year, sophomore forward
Elijah Gray is averaging 9.2 ppg and 4.0 rpg this year.
• Fordham is averaging 95.3 ppg over its last three contests.
• The 119 points scored at George Washington is the second most in a game for the Rams (school record is 128).
• The Rams did not lose any student-athletes to the transfer portal from 2022-23.
• The Rams continue the 2024 Atlantic 10 season by traveling to St. Bonaventure, N.Y., to face the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies in the Reilly Center on Saturday, January 13, at 2:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised by the USA Network.
