CJ Montes entered today's game with Georgetown leading the NCAA FCS in passing touchdowns with 13. But it was Georgetown quarterback Tyler Knoop who stole the show, throwing three touchdowns passes, including what proved to be the game-winner with 56 seconds left in the game to lead the Hoyas to a 28-24 win over the Rams in the Patriot league opener for both teams on Cooper Field.

With the loss, Fordham falls to 3-2 overall while Georgetown improves to 3-2.

Montes completed 16 of 34 passes for 186 yards and the three scores with two of the touchdowns going to grad student wide receiver
Garrett Cody, who had four catches for 57 yards while senior
Mekai Felton grabbed five passes for 58 yards and a score.

Defensively the Rams picked off Knoop three times, one each from senior
Nahil Perkins, grad student
Cameron Blair, and freshman
Andrew Osmun.

The Rams took their second lead of the day when Montes hit grad Cody with a seven-yard touchdown pass with 3:58 left in the fourth.

Georgetown took over on its own 26 following the kickoff and faced a fourth and four at the 32 when the Hoyas managed to gain 18 yards on a pass.

Two more completions and a roughing the passer penalty on the Rams gave Georgetown the ball on the Fordham eight. Three plays later Knoop hit Brock Biestek with the scoring strike.

The Rams were able to move to the Hoya 45 where Montes' heave to the end zone fell incomplete as time expired.
