Bronx, N.Y. – Since we're a few days into the 2023 Fordham football camp it's time to start our position-by-position breakdown of the Rams, starting with the quarterbacks.
For the first time since 2018, the Rams enter a training camp without
Tim DeMorat, a three-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, who is now in camp with the Washington Commanders. DeMorat, who was runner-up for the 2022 Walter Payton Award, graduated with just about every school passing record, including passing yards and passing touchdowns.
The Rams have four quarterbacks in camp this year, including sophomore transfer
CJ Montes, sophomores
Jack Capaldi and
Joe Mikol, and senior
Joey Gulbin.
Montes joins the Fordham squad after transferring from the University of New Mexico where he appeared in seven games over the past two years, making two starts for the Lobos last fall. He played high school football at Paraclete High School in Lancaster, California, where he threw for 2,200 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior.
Capaldi, a product of Malverne Prep in Pennsylvania where he was an All-Area and All-Main Line selection, did not see action last year for the Rams
Gulbin has appeared in a two games over the past two years, completing his lone pass attempt last fall, while Mikol, the 2021 New Hampshire Player of the Year, did not see action for the Rams in 2022.
Season and individual game tickets for the 2023 home season are now on sale through the
Fordham Athletic Ticket Office.
