BRONX, N.Y. – Fordham University boasts two members of the recently revealed 2023 Bronx Basketball Hall of Fame Class, as Anne Gregory O'Connell and Tom Konchalski will be inducted this fall.  The pair will be honored as part of a 15-inductee class on Nov. 3, 2023, at Villa Barone Manor.

Gregory, a 1980 Fordham graduate, remains the most prolific player in the 50-year history of the Fordham women's basketball program.  In four years, she amassed 2,548 points and grabbed 1,999 rebounds, the latter of which stood as the highest total in women's college basketball history for nearly 30 years and is 800 clear of second place on the Rams' all-time ledger.  Fordham's career leader in scoring, rebounding and blocks (200), Gregory led Fordham to its most successful stretch in program history, going 90-38 over her four years and advancing to the AIAW national quarterfinals in 1979. For her career, she averaged 20.1 points and 15.7 rebounds per game, the latter of which is more than six rebounds per contest clear of second place.

A two-time nominee for the Wade Trophy as the national player of the year, Gregory played professionally in both France and the United States.  Gregory, the first female inductee into the Fordham Athletics Hall of Fame in 1986, is also a member of the New York City Basketball and Monsignor Scanlan High School Halls of Fame.

Konchalski, a 1968 Fordham graduate, served as one of the foremost authorities on high school and grassroots basketball for decades before passing away in 2021 at the age of 74.  A revered figure in his native New York and around the country, Konchalski published High School Basketball Illustrated, a 16-part annual newsletter that became canon in college basketball coaching circles and beyond.  A gifted talent evaluator with a near photographic memory, Konchalski wrote on scores of future NBA stars while also helping usher lesser-known players to successful careers at all levels of college basketball.

Before earning induction into the Bronx Basketball Hall of Fame, Konchalski will be posthumously awarded the John Bunn Liftetime Achievement Award during the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend in August.

Last season, Fordham Men's Basketball held the inaugural Tom Konchalski Classic, a four-team tournament in November that saw the Rams go 3-0 as part of a 12-1 non-conference effort.
