Khalid Moore Earns Summer League Invite from New York Knicks

Rams’ second-leading scorer will suit up for the Knicks in Las Vegas beginning on July 8

BRONX, N.Y. – After a brief, yet brilliant stint with Fordham Rams, Khalid Moore has earned an invitation from the New York Knicks to join the organization's NBA Summer League squad.

Moore, a Third Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, will become the fourth Fordham player to appear in NBA Summer League alongside Smush Parker, Bryant Dunston and Marcus Stout.

Moore, a native of Elmont, N.Y., and a product of Archbishop Molloy, will suit up for his hometown team after a stellar season with the Rams. Fordham's second leading scorer at 15.7 points per game, Moore converted on 48.6 percent of his field goal tries, including a 35.1 percent clip from beyond the arc in 33 appearances, all of which were starts.

Moore scored 20 or more points 11 times, including a season-high 30 points in a win over George Washington on Jan. 28 inside the Rose Hill Gym.  Also the team's leading rebounder with 6.7 boards per outing, he posted five double-doubles, including a 20-point, 11-rebound showing in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament in Brooklyn.  Anchored by that effort, Fordham reached the semifinals of the conference championship for the first time since 2006.

A 1,000-point scorer, the 6-foot-7 Moore transferred to Fordham as a graduate student after spending four years at Georgia Tech.  The highlight of his tenure in Atlanta came during the 2020-21 campaign, when Moore averaged 5.9 points and helped lead the Yellow Jackets to an ACC Championship.

With Moore providing veteran leadership, the Rams put together their finest season in more than three decades, finishing with a record of 25-8 and matching the second-highest win total in program history.  The team's 25 victories were the most since the 1990-91 Patriot League Champions also turned in a 25-8 mark.  He was one of three players to earn all-conference recognition, as Darius Quisenberry was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and Kyle Rose was placed on the league's top defensive squad.  Keith Urgo garnered Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year honors, the first Fordham head man to do so since Nick Macarchuk 1999.

Season ticket deposits for the 2023-24 Fordham Men's Basketball campaign are being accepted now.
