Charlottesville, Va. – The Fordham women's tennis team's season came to an end today as the Rams fell to 56th-ranked Princeton University, 4-0, in the first round of the NCAA Championship at the University of Virginia's Tennis Facility.
It was the first NCAA Championship appearance for Fordham, who earned the trip thanks to the Rams winning their first Atlantic 10 title last Sunday in Orlando with a 4-1 win over three-time defending champion VCU.
Fordham fell behind 1-0 after dropping the doubles point with the Tigers taking both completed matches. Princeton then clinched the match with wins at first, third, and fifth singles.
