Women’s Tennis Sends Grads Out with Win

Ardsley, N.Y. – The Fordham women's tennis team held its Senior Day ceremony before today's match with Massachusetts and four of the five last year student-athletes figured into the decision as all four picked up a win in singles play to lead the Rams to a 4-2 win over the Minutewomen at Anthony P. Veteran Park.
 
The match opened with UMass winning the doubles point, winning both completed matches.
 
Grad student Lindsay Hung evened the match for the Rams with a straight set win at second singles before senior Avery Aude made it 2-1 Fordham with a straight set win at fourth singles. After UMass made it a 2-2 match with a win at sixth singles, Grad student Carlota Casasampere Escoda put the Rams up for good with a win at fifth singles before grad student Valeriya Deminova clinched the win for Fordham with a victory at first singles.
