Dallas, Texas – (February 19, 2023) – Dallas Baptist's Miguel Santos hit a grand slam home run and drove in seven runs to lead the Patriots to a 13-1 win over the Fordham Rams in seven innings at Horner Ballpark.
Much like Saturday, Dallas Baptist took advantage off some early walks to score four runs in the first and second innings for an 8-0 lead. The big hit of those rallies came from Miguel Santos in the second, as he posted a grand slam home run to left center.
The Patriots tacked on five more runs in the third to cap their scoring in the game.
Fordham got its lone run in the top of the sixth inning, as
Sebastian Mexico and
Peter DeMaria led off the frame with back-to-back singles. After a couple of pop outs,
Daniel Bucciero laced a double to left center to score Mexico from second.
Mexico and DeMaria each had two hits in the game to lead the Fordham offense, while Bucciero had the RBI-double to go with two walks.
Nolan Hughes (0-1) took the loss, allowing six runs in just over an inning of work.
Nate Scott allowed one hit over 2.2 innings of relief with
Connor Haywood also throwing an inning of scoreless relief.
The Rams will next be in action on Friday, February 24
th, as they begin a three-game series at Old Dominion.
