Dallas, Texas – (February 18, 2023) – Dallas Baptist's Tom Poole hit two home runs and drove in four runs to lead the Patriots to a 19-5 win over the Fordham Rams at Horner Ballpark in Dallas.
Things did not get off to a great start for Fordham, as Dallas Baptist rallied for eight runs over the first two innings off Rams' starter
Ben Kovel.
The Patriots then turned on the power, as Tom Poole hit a two-run home run in the third and fourth innings, while Nate Rombach had a solo home run in the fourth for a 13-0 lead.
Fordham broke through with a single run in fifth on an RBI-ground out by
Zach Selinger, after a walk to
Sebastian Mexico and a double by
Daniel Bucciero.
DBU added on to their lead, making it 19-1 after eight innings, highlighted by a solo home run by Miguel Santos and a two-run home run by G. Jay in the eighth.
The Rams put together a four-run rally in the ninth for the 19-5 final, getting runs on RBI-singles by TJ Wahter,
Tommy McAndrews, and
Daniel Bucciero, as well as a sacrifice fly by
Diego Prieto.
The same teams wrap up the series on Sunday, starting at 2:00 PM.
