BRONX, N.Y. – Looking to make it three in a row Tuesday night, Fordham University women's basketball return to action at the Rose Hill Gym hosting Saint Peter's. Tipoff between the Rams and Peacocks is slated for 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

For The Ramily

Tuesday is Mental Health Awareness day for Fordham Women's Basketball, with the Rams using the game against the Peacocks to advocate for safe and healthy mental health practices ahead of finals week and the holiday break. The first 100 students in attendance will receive a free water bottle, and feature quick facts and tips that will be displayed on the video board and available for students to grab at the door.

Fordham Fast Pass

  • Fordham enters play 4-2 with victories over Adelphi and UAlbany the first week of the campaign.

  • Women's basketball looks to make it three victories in a row after a 76-49 victory over UMass Lowell last time out and a 41-point win over Georgian Court prior to that.

  • Saturday marked the second consecutive game where five or more different players tallied 10 or more points in a night.

  • For the second game in a row Fordham tallied at least 17 dimes against UMass Lowell, with over half of their made shots from the field credited with an assist.

  • The Rams have tallied double digit steals in five of the first six games of the season, averaging just over 11 per game thus far.

  • Fordham is averaging almost four more rebounds per game than their opponents, collecting 38.7 on average compared to 34.2 by opposing teams.

  • Aminata Ly tallied the first double-double by a  Fordham player this season, scoring 10 points and pulling down ten rebounds against Manhattan. Ly also paces the Rams' efforts on the glass, with 6.6 boards per contest.

  • Matilda Flood leads the teams with 12 steals, and sits second the team through the early portion of the year, averaging 5.0 rebounds per game.

Flipping Through the Record Book

A long history of women's basketball between the two sides, the history between Fordham and Saint Peter's dates back to the first varsity season on Rose Hill in 1970, with the Peacocks holding a 29-13 all time edge in the series. Of recent note, Fordham has one each of the last three meetings against Saint Peter's since 2010, including an 81-39 victory at home a season ago.

Clicking the Guide Button

In addition the A-10 deal with ESPN will see the full slate of 18 Fordham home games broadcast on the ESPN family of networks, the 2023-24 Rams will have 10 total games broadcast on regional sports networks. Last Friday served as the first of six broadcasts for Fordham women's basketball on Sportsnet New York (SNY), with Saturday marking the second game in that stretch.

The Rams will also play four games on a network familiar to Bronx sports fans, with the YES (Yankees Entertainment & Sports) Network hosting four games, two in non-conference play and a pair of A-10 dates in late January.

Fordham will take on Davidson on National television Jan. 14, 2024 when the Rams and Wildcats square off from the Rose Hill Gym on CBS Sports Network.

The Scoop on Saint Peter's

Returning to action after a pair of losses on the road last week, Saint Peter's comes into Tuesday at 1-3 on the year, having defeated Central Connecticut State on Nov. 13. Reilly Sunday leads the Peacocks on offense averaging just shy of 10 points per game, while Fatmata Janneh is leading the rebounding efforts at an even 6.0 per game.

Making a House a Home

The 2023-24 calendar starts with a litany of home games for the Rams, who will play seven of their first eight games in the friendly confines of the Rose Hill Gym. With the lone trip out of The Bronx coming last weekend with a visit to Miami, Fordham will play five straight games at home from Nov. 16 to Dec. 2. That stretch began with the annual "Battle of the Bronx" when the Rams hosted Manhattan, the first of six games broadcast on SNY this season. Taking on Georgian Court just before Thanksgiving, Fordham took on UMass Lowell Saturday, followed by match-ups with Saint Peter's and Maine this week.

Next Stop

Fordham women's basketball hosts the final game of their long early season home stretch Saturday afternoon, taking on Maine at the Rose Hill Gym at 2:00 p.m.
