BRONX, N.Y. – Less than a month after defeating an FBS opponent for the third time in the last decade, Fordham Football announced on Tuesday that it will travel to Coastal Carolina during the 2026 season for a contest with the Chanticleers.
Â
The game will be played on Sept. 12, 2026, at Brooks Stadium in Conway, S.C.
Â
Fordham is one of just six FCS programs to boast three or more wins over FBS foes since 2013. That year, the Rams picked up their first-ever win over an FBS opponent, defeating Temple, 30-29, on a 29-yard touchdown toss from Mike Nebrich to Sam Ajala in the closing seconds at Lincoln Financial Field. Two years later, Fordham opened the 2015 campaign with a 37-35 win over Army at Michie Stadium behind three touchdowns from future NFL running back Chase Edmonds. Just last month, the Rams trailed Buffalo 21-3 early in the second quarter before
CJ Montes orchestrated an all-time comeback, throwing for five touchdowns in a 40-37 road triumph over the Bulls.
Â
Since the start of the 2011 season, Fordham has played an FBS opponent 14 times. A 2020 contest at Hawaii was canceled due to COVID. Next fall, the Rams will open the 2024 season with a Week 1 matchup at Bowling Green before playing at Boston College in 2025. After traveling to Coastal Carolina in 2026, the Rams also have games on the schedule against FBS opponents Syracuse (2027) and Hawaii (2028).
Â
Fordham and Coastal Carolina have a key mutual connection in Joe Moglia, FCRH '71, who guided the Chanticleers to 56 wins in seven seasons as head coach and currently serves as Coastal Carolina's Chair of Athletics, Executive Director for Football and Executive Advisor for the President. On Saturday afternoon, Fordham will officially dedicate its on-campus football home as Moglia Stadium in his honor as part of the University's homecoming festivities. An alumnus of both Fordham Prep and Fordham University, Moglia is the former CEO and Chairman of TD Ameritrade and Current Chair of Fundamental Global and Capital Wealth Advisors.
Â
Moglia is just the fourth alumnus to be honored with the Fordham Founder's Award as well as induction into Fordham'sÂ
Hall of Honor and itsÂ
Athletics Hall of Fame. He is also a member of FordhamÂ
Prep's Hall of Honor andÂ
Football Hall of Fame, and received an honorary doctorate from the University in 2009.
Â
Saturday's homecoming game against Lehigh will kick off at 1 p.m. The contest will air live on both SNY and ESPN+.
