Bronx, N.Y. – (October 22, 2023) – An early goal in the third minute and one in the 84
th minute was all the Massachusetts Minutewomen needed, as they earned a 2-0 win over the Fordham Rams in women's soccer action at Moglia Stadium on Sunday.
In the third minute, Ella Curry put a through ball to the end line, where Nia Hislop put a cross right to the center of the box. Bella Recinos was right there to put home the goal from six yards out for her seventh of the season.
The score remained that way until the Minutewomen sealed the game with a goal in the 84
th minute. Chandler Pedolzky worked her way into the box and played a pass back from near the endline. Rose Gevanthor received the pass and connected on a shot in the left side of the net for her first goal of the season.
UMass' Bella Mendoza kept Fordham off the scoresheet, making five saves for the shutout, while Fordham's
Serena Mensah recorded three.
With the loss, Fordham ends its season at 4-10-4 overall, 2-5-3 in the Atlantic 10.
