Fordham will host its exhibition matchup against UMBC eight days before the official start of its season against Wagner on Nov. 6 inside the Rose Hill Gym. The Rams are coming off their best campaign in more than three decades, as Fordham won 25 games and advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship for just the second time in program history. Three Rams earned postseason honors from the A-10, as
Darius Quisenberry was named to the all-conference second team,
Khalid Moore found a spot on the third team and
Kyle Rose took home all-defensive honors. In his first year at the helm of the Rams, Urgo was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
Fans can also get a look at the Rams tomorrow, Oct. 13, when the team hosts an
open practice beginning at 6 p.m. inside the Rose Hill Gym.
Â
Rose leads a core veteran returners for the Rams in 2023, which includes eight of the team's 11 players who averaged five or more minutes per game last season. Joining Rose in the back court will be fellow fifth-year standout
Antrell Charlton and sophomore
Will Richardson, the latter of whom averaged 9.2 points and shot 45.7 percent from deep over his final 17 games.
Â
The Rams are also set to welcome a slew of talented newcomers, including a trio of Division I transfers in
Joshua Rivera, Japeht Medor and
Ogheneyole Akuwovo. Freshman
Jahmere Tripp, a three-star recruit from Our Saviour Lutheran in the Bronx, is also slated to make his Rose Hill debut.
