Volleyball to Compete in UND Classic This Weekend

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham volleyball (5-1) is riding a four-match win streak into this weekend's UND Classic, hosted by North Dakota (2-4). The Rams will take on the Fighting Hawks on Saturday at 2 p.m., but will play Montana State (1-5) first on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
 
All times above are Eastern. Live stats are available for both matches but only the match against North Dakota will be streamed via Midco Sports.

Last Time Out
The Rams swept the 19^th Rose Hill Classic last weekend, rallying to defeat Fairleigh Dickinson in five sets and then taking down both Niagara and Penn in straight sets, making it four straight victories over a four-day span. Read all about day one and day two of the Classic.
 
Whitley Moody Named A-10 Player of the Week
The junior outside hitter earned her second career Player of the Week honor after leading the Rams to four wins, racking up 54 kills, 35 digs, five blocks, and four aces, averaging 4.32 points per set. It's early, but Moody leads the Atlantic 10 in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set through the opening two weeks.
 
Series History
This will be the first time Fordham has faced either school.
 
Audrey Brown Named A-10 Rookie of the Week
The Birmingham, Mich. native dazzled in her opening weekend, notching 40 kills while hitting far and away a team-high .395, 14 digs, and nine blocks, to become the fifth Ram in program history to earn the year's first conference weekly Rookie accolade.
 
USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award
For the third straight year and fourth time in the last five years, the Rams earned a United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic award, holding a 3.3 GPA or above for the entire 2021-22 academic year. 12 student-athletes also saw placement on the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, which requires a 3.0 GPA or better for the year.
 
Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll
The league's head coaches voted on the annual preseason poll and Fordham was picked to finish seventh. Dayton was selected to successfully defend its title, garnering eight first-place votes, with VCU getting the other two votes and picked second, followed by newcomers Loyola Chicago in third.
 
Next Up
Fordham will compete in next weekend's Yale Invitational, taking on the Bulldogs on Saturday at 1 p.m., in between matches against Sacred Heart, on Friday at 4:30 p.m., and Villanova, on Saturday at 5 p.m.
