New Haven, Conn. - Fordham volleyball fell in straight sets, 16-25, 22-25, 23-25, to Sacred Heart to begin the Yale Invitational on Friday. With the loss, the Rams move to 6-3 overall.
The offense struggled to a season-low .086 hit percentage for the match, the first time below .100 and only second below .200 this year, while the Pioneers hit .270. Fordham did tally more blocks, 9-8, and aces, 7-5.Â
Reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week
Audrey Brown and
Whitley Moody each tallied 10 kills, the latter adding three aces and the former notching five blocks.
Aria De La Rosa led at the net with six blocks, plus four kills, while
Mallory Lipski posted 10 digs and
Megan Brzozowski had 27 assists.
The Rams return to action with a doubleheader tomorrow, first against Yale at 1 p.m. and later against Villanova at 5 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.Â
