Davidson, N.C. – The Fordham women's tennis squad made it a perfect weekend in North Carolina with a 4-3 comeback win over Davison College on the Davidson Tennis Courts on Sunday..
"This was a great team effort today!" exclaimed Fordham head coach
Michael Sowter. "Davidson came out strong in doubles and we were down 3-1 in the match but we were able to come back and take the last three singles matches. Really proud of how well the team fought until the very last point!"
The Rams dropped the double point as Davidson won both completed doubles matches and the Wildcats took two of the first three completed singles matches to lead the Rams, 3-1.
Valeriya Deminova got the Fordham comeback started with a 1-6, 6-1, 6-2 win over Elizabeth Truluck at the second spot and then
Lorraine Bergmann knotted the match at 3-3 when she defeated Mira Gladstone at sixth singles 6-2, 7-5.
Avery Aude sent Fordham home with the win she took a three-set match from Josie Schaffer at the first position, 6-4, 6-2, 2-6.
