Kingston, R.I. – The Fordham women's tennis squad won its third straight match to improve to 11-4 on the year with a 5-2 win at the University of Rode Island on Saturday.
"It was a good team effort in difficult conditions," said Fordham head coach
Michael Sowter. "Rhode Island played really tough tennis so we needed everyone to pull out the victory!"
Fordham won the doubles point, taking both completed doubles matches, and then won four of the six singles matches for the victory.
Eleni Fasoula gave Fordham a 2-0 lead with a win at third singles and, following a Rhode Island win,
Carlota Casasampere Escoda and
Rachelle Yang won at fourth and sixth singles, respectively, to clinch the win.
