Conway, S.C. – Fordham softball wrapped up play at the Battle at the Beach on Sunday with an 8-0 loss to Marshall in five innings. With the defeat, the Rams move to 3-7 overall through two weekends of play.
The Rams had runners in scoring position in three of the five frames but were unable to bring them home.
Rachel Hubertus was the lone player to reach base twice safely, singling twice, while
Bella Ayala and
Sydney Wells each notched a knock and
Bailey Enoch and
Michaela Carter each walked once.
Makenzie McGrath got the start but took the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, over 2.1 frames before giving way to Enoch, who tossed the final 2.2 innings, allowing a pair of runs.
Fordham is off for nearly two weeks before traveling to Arlington, Texas, for the Boerner Invitational where they will play UT Arlington, UTSA, and Northwestern State.
