Davidson, N.C. – Similar to Friday's match, Davidson opened with two set victories then rallied in the third to defeat Fordham volleyball, with a 22-25, 16-25, 24-26 score on Saturday. With the loss, the Rams fall to 9-13 overall and 3-8 in league play, while the Wildcats improve to 16-6 and 10-1, respectively.
Fordham used a pair of
Zoe Talabong kills late in the third to take a 23-22 lead and a
Whitley Moody kill got them to set point, forcing the hosts into a timeout, but the Wildcats rebounded with three consecutive points to seal the victory.
Moody finished with a team-high 10 kills, just ahead of the freshman duo of
Audrey Brown and Talabong, each with seven kills, the former hitting .467.
Mallory Lipski racked up 20 digs, while
Megan Brzozowski and
Mackenzie Colvin combined for 30 assists. The defense provided 12 total blocks, six of which were solo, including two from Talabong, who also notched an ace, as did
Aneliesa Cartledge, and added eight digs.
Fordham finishes the true road portion of its schedule with two matches next weekend at Duquesne at 6 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
