Washington, D.C. – Fordham volleyball began a six-match road swing with a three-set loss at George Washington on Friday evening, 22-25, 23-25, 21-25. With the loss, the Rams fall to 8-11 overall and 2-6 in Atlantic 10 action.
Fordham rallied to tie each of the first sets up, the second coming at 23-23, but the Colonials were able to push past the Rams in each instance, then led throughout the third, though Fordham would get within one or two points on several occasions. The two schools tallied nearly the same amount of errors in attack but the hosts racked up 15 more kills, 46-31, which proved to be the difference, as Fordham hit .125 to GW's .279.
Whitley Moody once again led the charge in attack, finishing with eight kills, just ahead of
Zoe Talabong's seven and five each from
Aria De La Rosa and
Audrey Brown. Three Rams tallied two blocks each, with Talabong and
Chloe Pejouan each notching one solo.
Mackenzie Colvin, with 13, and
Megan Brzozowski, with 11, split setting duties, while
Mallory Lipski led the way with nine digs.
Fordham and George Washington finish the weekend series tomorrow at 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
