Darius Quisenberry, who hails from nearby Springfield, had a large group of family and friends in attendance tonight. And he didn't disappoint them, scoring a team-high 17 points but the Rams came up just short, falling to the University of Dayton, 68-61, in an Atlantic 10 contest in the UD Arena.
With the loss, Fordham evens its overall record at 9-9, 2-4 in the Atlantic 10, while Dayton improves to 13-7, 5-2 in the conference.
Quisenberry added five rebounds and four assists to his 17 points while graduate student guard Josh Colon-Navarro added 15 points and sophomore guard
Kyle Rose eleven for the Rams.
The first half was a half of runs with the Flyers using a 14-0 run to take a 23-9 lead with just over eight minutes left in the half.
The Rams responded with a 14-7 run to cut the Dayton lead to four, 27-23, following a Josh Colon-Navarro driving layup with 3:30 remaining but the Flyers closed out the half with 10-2 spurt to a to take a 37-25 halftime lead.
The Flyers led by 13, 63-50, with 3:00 remaining when the Rams used an 11-4 run to pull within six, 67-61, on an
Antrell Charlton jumper with 21 seconds left but that was as close as they would get.

• The Rams return to action and continue Atlantic 10 play on Sunday, January 30, as they travel to Washington, D.C., to face the George Washington University Colonials in the Smith Center at 12:00 p.m.
• It will be the 40th meeting between Fordham and George Washington on the hardwood.
• The Colonials lead the all-time series, which started in the 1914-15 season, 29-10.
• George Washington won last year's meeting, 71-47, on December 30 in the Rose Hill Gym.
