Women's Basketball Adds Senior Transfer Asiah Dingle

Senior Guard Eligible to Play Right Away For Rams in 2021-22

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham women's basketball head coach Stephanie Gaitley has announced the addition of senior transfer guard Asiah Dingle this Summer for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign. Dingle most recently played at Stony Brook and is eligible to play right away for the Rams.

"We are so excited that Asiah will be a Ram," Gaitley said, "We played her in the first game of last season at Stony Brook and when her named surfaced in the transfer portal we focused on her right away. She has the ability to be an outstanding two-way player. She adds great depth to our guard rotation and will be a valuable addition to our team!"

Dingle, a Boston native, spent her first two years at Kent State before transferring to the Seawolves as a junior. In last season's opener, at Stony Brook, Dingle produced 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting with five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks over 37 minutes in a four-point loss to Fordham. Dingle earned Second Team All-America East honors and helped Stony Brook to its first-ever conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance where the Seawolves played eventual national runner-up Arizona in the opening round; Dingle scored a team-high 14 points against the Wildcats.

Reaching 1,000 career points in the America East title game, Dingle also played 60 games over two seasons for Kent State prior to her return to the East Coast. She was named to the MAC All-Freshman team and then the following year was an All-Academic selection, scoring in double figures in 20 of 28 games as a sophomore.

Dingle joins a four-player freshman class as the five new faces in maroon and white for next season.
