Bronx, N.Y. – In its final tune up before the Atlantic 10 Championship, the Fordham women's tennis squad fell to Army west Point, 6-1, on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts on Saturday.
The Rams were shorthanded for the fourth straight match, competing with just five players due to injury and illness.
Prior to the match, Fordham honored its two seniors,
Maia Balce and
Arina Taluyenko with a special ceremony. It was Taluyenko who picked up the Fordham point with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Army's Stephanie Dolehide at first doubles. Taluyenko finishes the spring dual match season with an 8-1 record.
The Rams will now travel to Orlando, Fa., to compete in the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championships beginning on Wednesday, April 28, at the USTA National Campus.
