Bronx, N.Y. –  The Fordham University Rams continue the 2021-2022 season, Fordham's 119th varsity season, and open their Atlantic 10 season by traveling to Philadelphia to face the La Salle University Explorers in Tom Gola Arena on Thursday, December 30, at 7:00 p.m.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Kale Beers (PxP) and Richard Prendegast (analyst) announcing as well as streamed on www.wfuvsports.org with Nick DeLuca (PxP) and Ryan Gregware (analyst) behind the mics.

Fordham enters the game with a 7-5 record after a 72-66 loss to the University of Miami in the Barclays Center as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational on Sunday, December 12, while La Salle is 5-5 on the season after an 82-70 loss at Bucknell on December 18.

Thursday night's contest will be the 62nd meeting between Fordham and La Salle on the hardwood. The Explores lead the all-time series, which started in the 1953-54 season, 43-18. The Ram snapped a nine-game La Salle winning streak in the all-time series with a 76-68 win on February 6 last winter as Ty Perry netted 18 points and Kyle Rose added 15.

Notes

• After missing most of the 2020-2021 season, graduate student forward Chuba Ohams has wasted little time displaying that he was back, recording a double-double in seven of the first 12 games.

• Ohams recorded Fordham first 20/20 game since 2000 when he scored 20 points and added 22 rebounds, both career-highs, in a win over St. Francis.

• Ohams leads the Atlantic 10 and is fourth in the NCAA in rebounding (11.3 rpg).

• Junior guard Antonio Daye Jr. is second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring, averaging a team-high 17.6 ppg.

• Daye has scored in double figures in all 12 games this year and has converted 65 free throws on the season, tops in the Atlantic 10 and third in NCAA Division I.

• Graduate student guard Darius Quisenberry is right behind Daye, averaging 16.3 ppg, seventh in the A-10.
