Bronx, N.Y. – There were probably only a handful of people in the Rose Hill Gym tonight who were present the last time a Fordham men's basketball player recorded a 20/20 game. Quite a few joined them tonight as graduate forward
Chuba Ohams scored 20 points and grabbed 22 rebounds (both career-highs) to lead Fordham to a 68-46 win over St. Francis College.
With the win, Fordham improves to 6-3 on the year while St. Francis falls to 0-7.
The 20/20 game was the first for a Fordham men's basketball player since Duke Freeman-McKamey scored 28 points and grabbed 20 rebounds against George Washington on February 26, 2000.
Ohams had his sixth double-double of the season at halftime with eleven points and ten rebounds and added nine points and 12 boards over the final 20 minutes. He shot 8-for-16 from the field and added three blocks and two assists.
Ohams wasn't the only Ram to score 20 as junior guard
Antonio Daye, Jr. netted a game-high 22 points, shooting 8-for-16 from the field.
The Rams led by eleven at the break, 34-23, but the Terriers were able to get the Fordham lead to six twice in the second half, the final at 45-39, midway through the half. A 19-5 Fordham run over the next eight minutes gave the Rams a commanding 64-44 lead with just under two minutes left.
