Bronx, N.Y. – (November 6, 2021) – The Fordham swimming & diving team completed their opening stretch of four consecutive home meets on Saturday afternoon, as the Rams hosted the Georgetown Hoyas for a dual meet at the Messmore Aquatic Center.
The Fordham women kept their record clean at 4-0 with a 198-96 win over the Hoyas, while the Fordham men fell to 2-2 on the year with a 199-94 loss.
In the women's competition, Fordham's
Ainhoa Martin led the way with three individual event wins, taking first in the 100 (1:05.34) and 200 breaststroke (2:17.56), as well as in the 200 individual medley (2:04.67).
The Rams also got multiple event wins from
Natalie Ortof,
Jessica Zebrowski, and
Madeline Bergin on Saturday. Ortof swept the diving events with scores of 273.87 (1M) and 282.22 (3M), while Zebrowski took both butterfly events in 2:05.91 (200) and 56.98 (100). Bergin captured the sprint freestyle events, winning the 50 in 24.51 seconds and the 100 in 53.56 seconds.
Other events wins came from
Audrey Tirrell in the 200 freestyle (1:54.79),
Leire Martin in the 100 backstroke (58.37),
Alison Lin in the 200 backstroke (2:05.11), and
Emilie Krog in the 500 freestyle (5:03.95).

Fordham also won both relays events for the women, as the 200 medley relay team of L. Martin,
Becky Kamau,
Victoria Navarro, and
Madeline Bergin posted a winning time of 1:46.43, while the 400 freestyle relay of Bergin,
Alex Antonov, Zebrowski, and Navarro won in 3:32.56.
In the men's competition, the Rams picked up three event wins from three different swimmers.
Ethan Murray took first in the 200 butterfly in 1:55.32, with
Vitalis Onu grabbing the top spot in the 100 butterfly in 51.20 seconds.
Spencer Clarke was the final winner in the 100 freestyle, as he clocked in at 47.06 seconds.
The Rams will now prepare for the three-day Bucknell Invitational from November 19-21 in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
