Fairfax, Va. – The Fordham volleyball team fell in four sets at George Mason on Friday evening, 25-17, 21-25, 20-25, 13-25. With the loss, the Rams fall to 5-14 overall and 2-6 in Atlantic 10 play.
The Rams came out firing, hitting .321 in the opening frame and taking advantage of 10 miscues in attack by the Patriots to take the opening set, but fell in the second after a late rally by the hosts to swing momentum the other way. George Mason cut their errors down as the match progressed and saw out the contest.
For Fordham,
Whitley Moody led the offense with 15 kills, just ahead of
Bella Ureña's 14.
Izzy Fichtel, with nine, and
Aria De La Rosa, with eight, rounded out the scoring, the latter hitting a team-high .375.
Megan Brzozowski produced a 42-assist, 14-dig double-double and co-led the team with a pair of blocks along with De La Rosa, Fichtel, and Ureña, the latter two posting one solo block each.
Mallory Lipski notched 14 digs and four assists, while Ureña added 12 digs for a double-double, and
Ryan Naumann recorded 10 digs, plus a kill.
The Rams play at George Washington tomorrow at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
