St. Louis, Mo. – (October 2, 2021) – Despite a career-high nine saves from
Nick Buchholz, the Fordham men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to the 15
th-ranked Saint Louis Billikens at Hermann Stadium on Saturday night.
The Billikens scored a pair of first half goals for all the offense in the match. In the 22
nd minute, Simon Beecher played a give and go with John Klein with Beecher getting around a Fordham defender and goalkeeper
Nick Buchholz to tap-in his sixth goa of the season.
Saint Louis made it 2-0 in the 31
st minute on a long free kick to the far post by Klein. The ball found the head of Mujeeb Murana on the corner of the six-yard box for the goal into the lower right corner. It was his second marker of the year.
The two goals were all the Billikens could muster, as Buchholz made a career-high nine saves in the Fordham goal, while
Luke McNamara was credited with a defender save, as he cleared a rolling ball off the goal line to prevent another tally.
The Fordham Rams will next be in action on Wednesday, October 6
th, as they host Davidson for a 7:00 PM match on Jack Coffey Field.
