Dayton, Ohio – The Fordham volleyball team fell in four sets at reigning Atlantic 10 champion Dayton on Sunday afternoon, 13-25, 25-20, 20-25, 16-25. With the loss, the Rams fall to 5-13 overall and 2-5 in league action.
The Rams rebounded from a tough opening frame while taking advantage of nine attack errors by the hosts, capping off a second-set victory with a 7-0 run to even the match up. However, Dayton withstood several Fordham rallies in the third and then cruised to the match win in the fourth set.
Leading the attack was a combined 25 kills from
Whitley Moody, with 14, and
Bella Ureña, 11.
Megan Brzozowski notched a 40-assist, 12-dig double-double with a pair of kills, a block, and the team's lone ace.
Mallory Lipski led the defense with 17 digs, while
Ryan Naumann had 11 off the bench.
Izzy Fichtel tallied a team-high four assists with Moody next with three.
The Rams are on the road again next weekend, first at George Mason on Friday at 7 p.m.
