Kendell Heremaia Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

Senior Tallied Season-High 20 Points in All-Around Performance in Win over Bonnies

Newport News, Va. – For the second straight week, and the fourth time this season, a Fordham women's basketball player has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week. After a season-high 20 points in a win over St. Bonaventure, senior Kendell Heremaia earned this week's honor, the second of her career.

"Kene is really starting to put her overall game together, she can beat you in so many ways." Head coach Stephanie Gaitley said, "I'm so happy to see all of her hard work paying off!"

The New Zealand international scored her 20 points on an efficient 7-of-13 shooting, hitting 4-of-8 three-pointers, and converting both free throw attempts. Heremaia enjoyed an all-around performance by sharing the team-high of eight rebounds while also handing out four assists, and recording a block and a steal over 35 minutes on Friday afternoon.

She is averaging 12.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for the season while shooting 37.5% overall and 37.8% from long range and has 31 assists, all over 27.7 minutes per contest.

Heremaia will become one of seven Rams to ever reach 800 career points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists, and 100 steals once she records her next theft. She is just 122 points away from 1,000 for her career, as well. The senior has reached the top-10 in the program record books for three-pointers made, up to ninth with 156, and efficiency, currently ranked 10th with a 35.2% conversion rate.

Heremaia and the Rams are back in action this Sunday at Davidson with a noon tip-off. ESPN+ and WFUV will carry live coverage.
