Atlantic 10 Announces Women's Basketball Conference Pairings

For Third Straight Year, Rams to Play Home-and-Home with Davidson, Dayton, and Saint Louis

League Release

Newport News, Va. – The Atlantic 10 conference announced Monday the 2020-21 women's basketball conference schedule pairings. The upcoming season, which is the 45th anniversary of the league and the 50th of women's basketball at Fordham as a varsity sport, will feature a 16-game slate for the league's 14 programs.

For the third year in a row, Fordham is paired with Davidson, Dayton, and Saint Louis, and will play them twice each, home and away. Since Davidson entered the league in 2014, the two schools have been paired together every year. Dayton is the reigning A-10 champion.

The Rams will host Duquesne, George Mason, Massachusetts, Richmond, and VCU, while playing George Washington, La Salle, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, and Saint Joseph's on the road.

Fordham's 2019-20 campaign ended in the Atlantic 10 tournament semifinal against VCU, finishing with a 21-11 record and 11-5 in league play. The Rams, led by Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Bre Cavanaugh, were headed for a fifth WNIT berth, and seventh overall postseason berth, in the past nine years under head coach Stephanie Gaitley before the COVID-19 pandemic forced a stoppage to the season.
