Boston, Mass. – (February 29, 2020) – For the fourth consecutive year, the Fordham squash team will play for the Chaffee Cup at the CSA Team Championship, after knocking off NYU, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon.
The Rams (20-9), who look to defend their Chaffee Cup on Sunday, opened the match, trailing 2-1, as NYU picked up wins at the third and sixth slots, while Fordham's
Justin George defeated Rashabh Periwal at the ninth slot in four games, 4-11, 11-6, 11-9, and 11-9.
Fordham then took control of the match by winning all three of the second flight matches. Patrick Roddin topped Tyler Kang at the #2 position in four games (11-3, 7-11, 11-9, and 11-6), while
Bruce Czachor swept his match with Max White, 14-12, 11-8, and 11-7.
Dylan Panichello completed the sweep of the second set of matches, coming from behind to win his eighth slot match against Kenneth Nakamura in five games, 11-9, 7-11, 11-5, 9-11, and 15-13.

The Rams then sealed the match with three more victories to complete the 7-2 team win.
William Douglass knocked off Hamaad Jafry at the #1 position 9-11, 11-3, 11-7, and 11-3, with
Justin Deckoff recording a four-game win over Gene Chung, 11-0, 8-11, 11-3, and 11-5.
Griffin Fitzgerald wrapped up the match with a five-game win over Andre Megliola at fourth position, 14-16, 11-8, 11-13, 11-9, and 11-8.
The Rams move on to the finals of the Chaffee Cup, as they will meet Hobart at 8:30 AM on Sunday. Fordham will look to avenge an earlier season loss to Hobart, back on January 19
th.
