Orlando, Fla. – The seventh-seeded Fordham men's tennis squad saw its season come to an end on Thursday with a 4-0 loss to second-seeded George Washington at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship at the USTA National Campus.
The Rams opened play by dropping the doubles point.
Nicole Li and
Genevieve Quenville started things on a positive note for the Rams with a 6-0 win over Victoria Kogan and Xenia De Luna at third doubles. However Sara Grubac and Katarina Marinovikj defeated Fordham's
Maia Balce and
Alexis Zobeideh at second doubles, 6-3, and Maria Siopacha and Melis Bayraktarogulu clinched te hpoint for the Colonials with a 6-4 win over
Arina Taluyenko and
Tatiana Grigoryan.
George Washington then won the first three completed singles matches for the win.
