Annapolis, Md. – The Fordham men's tennis squad got its weekend trip to Annapolis off on the right foot on Saturday with a 4-2 win over Delaware to improve to 6-2 on the season.
The Rams opened the match by dropping the doubles point, losing both completed doubles matches. But Fordham came back to win four of the five completed singles matches for the 4-2 win.
Lutwin de Macar got thing started for the Rams with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Justice Jones at fourth singles and then
Max Green put Fordham up 2-1 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Luis Molina at the second position.
After Blaise Casselbury picked up a win for the Blue Hens at sixth singles over
Jeremy Chung,
Finn Kemper defeated Guilherme Valdoleiro, 7-6 (3) and 6-4, at third singles before Fabian Mauritzson clinched the match for Fordham with a 7-5, 7-6 (5) win over James Wilkinson at first singles.
The Rams close out the weekend with a match against Navy on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m.
