Men's Basketball Falls to St. Bonaventure

Rams honor Bob Mullens and Kenny Charles at halftime

Bronx, N.Y. – At halftime of the Fordham-St. Bonaventure men's basketball game today the Rams honored two Hall of Fame players, Bob Mullens and Kenny Charles, by retiring their jerseys. Unfortunately, the current version of the Rams couldn't feed off that energy, falling to the Bonnies, 74-53, in an Atlantic 10 game in the Rose Hill Gym.

With the loss, Fordham falls to 11-16 overall, 2-12 in the Atlantic 10, while St. Bonaventure improves to 13-14 overall, 9-5 in the conference.

Freshman guard Jalen Cobb led the Rams with 12 points, and he added four rebounds, while junior forward Jesse Bunting scored ten points and grabbed four rebounds.

Fordham jumped out to a 10-2 lead three minutes into the game with eight of the points coming from Cobb. But the Fordham offense then went cold as the Bonnies outscored Fordham 22-4 over the next 14 minutes to take a 24-14 lead with 3:47 left in the half and St. Bonaventure led by ten at the half, 32-22.

The Bonnies opened the second half with a 16-7 run to take a commanding 48-29 lead 5:37 into the half.
