Middletown, Conn. – (February 16, 2019) – For the third straight year, the Fordham squash team is in a championship final at the CSA Team Championship, as the Rams defeated Hamilton College, 6-3, in the semifinals of the Chaffee Cup, held at Wesleyan College in Middletown, Connecticut.
The Rams made the Chaffee championship final last season, before falling to NYU, while being in the Serues Cup final in 2017 against Richmond.
Fordham had a great start, earning wins at #3, #6, and #9 for a 3-0 lead.
Patrick Rodden downed Rufus Somerby in three games at third position, 11-7, 12-10, and 12-10, while
Dylan Panichello did the same to Matthew Haas at the #9 slot, 11-6, 11-2, and 11-2. At the sixth slot,
Justin Deckoff came back from 2-1 down to rally for a five-game win over Jarrod Gerstein, 7-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-3, and 11-9.

The Rams then clinched the team win in the second shift with wins at the #2 and #8 slots.
Will Pantle toppled Atticus Jones in four games at the second position, 11-9, 11-6, 7-11, and 13-11, with
Justin Esposito taking down Will Nocito in three games, 11-3, 11-3, and 11-6.
Fordham then added a final win at the seventh slot, as
Winthrop Reed IV picked up a three-game win over John Buckley at seventh position, 11-7, 11-6, and 11-6.
The Rams will now face Northeastern for the Chaffee Cup Championship at 8:30 AM at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
