College Station, Texas – (February 15, 2019) – Texas A&M's John Doxakis struck out 12 batters over seven inning, while Logan Foster had a two-run home run, as the Aggies topped the Fordham Rams, 4-0, in the season opener for the two school s at Blue Bell Park in College Station, Texas.
It was a raucous crowd at Texas A&M with an announced attendance of 6,516, the fifth highest attendance for a Texas A&M home opener.
After a scoreless first inning, Texas A&M scratched a run across in the second inning. Mikey Hoehner reached base on an infield single and moved to second on a walk to Chandler Morris. Following a sacrifice bunt, Jonathan Ducoff lifted a sacrifice fly to center to score Hoehner for the 1-0 lead.

The Aggies extended the lead to 3-0 in the third, as after a one-out single by Bryce Blaum, Logan Foster connected on a two-run home run to left center.
The Rams were able to keep the score at 3-0 in the fourth inning, thanks to the addition of coaches' challenge this season. Allonte Wingate thought he had reached base on a double down the right field line. However, the Fordham dugout saw Wingate miss first base and asked for a video review and Wingate was called out.
The Aggies made it 4-0 in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI-single by Aaron Walters, but the damage stayed there as Walters was thrown out on the play trying to take second on the throw home.
Fordham tried to mount a rally in the ninth, getting two runners on with one out, but Chandler Jozwiak got the final two outs to finish out the game.

Fordham starter
Matt Mikulski (0-1) pitched well, allowing three runs over four innings, while reliever
Joseph Quintal did the job out of the bullpen, giving up only one run over four innings with three strikeouts.
Game two of the series is set for 3:05 PM on Saturday (2:05 local).
