Newport News, Va. – The Fordham women's basketball team picked up its final Atlantic 10 weekly award of the decade, and third this season, with junior
Kendell Heremaia being named the conference's Player of the Week on Monday, the league office announced. It is Heremaia's first career accolade and the second Ram to garner the recognition this season –
Bre Cavanaugh earned the honor on December 9.

Heremaia continued her breakout junior campaign with a near triple-double on Sunday against Samford in the opening game of the 13
th Fordham Holiday Classic. The Whangerai, New Zealand native piled up 21 points, 11 rebounds, and a career-high eight assists over just 30 minutes. It was her second straight and second career 20-point effort and her third career double-double.
For the season, Heremaia leads the team in rebounding, with 8.5 per game, and is tied for the lead in assists, with 38. She is second on the team in scoring, with 12.8 points per game, while her 43.1% three-point shooting efficiency tops the squad. She is also converting 43.5% of her overall attempts and has chipped in nine steals and five blocks over 30.7 minutes per game.
Heremaia is the 10
th different player to earn Player of the Week honors this decade under Coach Gaitley.
