Dayton, Ohio – The Fordham volleyball team fell in straight sets on Sunday afternoon at Dayton, 20-25, 16-25, 20-25. The Rams fall to 7-8 overall and 0-3 in Atlantic 10 play with the result.
Fordham led for chunks of the first two sets but saw the hosts use lengthy runs to push ahead. The Rams trailed in the third, falling behind by as much as eight, but made things interesting with a big run to get within three, 20-17, capping a 9-4 run, but the Flyers held on for the win.
The Rams offense hit a season-low .069 on the day with 18 errors on 102 attacks.
McKenna Lahr led the way with eight kills, adding 12 digs, three blocks, an ace, and an assist, with both
Olivia Fairchild and
Joey Landeros chipping in four kills each. Splitting setting duties,
Megan Brzozowski and
Makaela Tanaka tallied eight and six assists, respectively.
Defensively, the Rams compiled seven total blocks, with
Elise Benjamin leading the way with four.
Morgan Williams added 18 digs, as well. The senior libero is now within 100 of passing Stephanie Frost for the program record for career digs.
The Rams remain on the road for just two more road contests before opening up play at home. Fordham will next play at Davidson on Friday at 7 p.m. before traveling to VCU for a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday.
